I'm 6'3" 345 pounds, and these shoes are absolutely fantastic! I'm training for my first hot dog eating contest, and these shoes couldn't absorb any more ketchup and mustard than they already have - great shoe!

This is one of the best running shoes I've worn. I've had many different kinds over the years and they've all been good, but the 992s have been great. With the other shoes I've had, they've been good at first, but after a couple of months of logging alot of miles (I'm a marathon/ultrarunner) and bei...

Bring back the 991's. Those were the best shoes. The 992's are too heavy, stiff, and heel cup is too wide. These shoes are nothing like the 991's. New Balance until you change or go back to 991's, I will run in Saucony Pro Grid 9 Hurricanes.

Why did they mess up a good thing? I hear they are redesigning the shoe in December. Hope they bring back 991!

I have a narrow foot. I had worn out several pairs of 991's, so I when the 992 came out I bought it. I was disappointed in the fit, which is no longer particularly good for someone with a narrow foot. Otherwise, I had no problems, but I won't buy another pair of 992's.

I have been walking 30 -50 miles per week and the 992s were worn out in 8 weeks time. I have had many pairs of 991 with great satisfaction - they always lasted at least 6 mos. Too bad they can't bring back the 991- I may have to find another manufacturer.

All I have to say is you better try these babies on before buying. I am returning this pair. Hard to believe New Balance would put this shoe out. Definitely not a shoe for a higher arched foot. I'd rather have my old Kangaroo's back!!!

I run ~50 mi per week and have used the 990/9911 for years. The 992 is NOT equivalent. Can't say exactly what NB did wrong, but this shoe is an embarassment for them--PLEASE BRING BACK THE 991. I cannot weare this shoe and will have to defect to another company if NB can't/won't be responsive to the...

I have been running on NB for about 15 years, and I hate to change. My biggest problem with these shoes was breaking them in. I have a bunion on my left foot and the way they cut the shoe rubbed against it to the point I had an ulcer. I ended up having to remove the stitches and cutting out the leat...

These are terrible shoes! I run ~30mi/wk. I've used new balance shoes for years. The 991s were great. I immediately developed tendonitis in both ankles with the 992s and I was careful about breaking them in efore my first longish run. I get foot cramps and developed a neuroma. I wrote New Balan...

I bought two pairs based on my 20+ yrs experience with NB 998 and 991. These shoes are plain awful! I wore the shoes for three weeks hoping to break them in
(I never had to do that with the 998 or 991's). My feet hurt; I got blistering on my heels and developed some discomfort in both my inner ...

Great all around, everyday shoe. Good support, comfortable, and holds up well with heavy use. I do lots of walking on both pavement and rough terrain, and plan to buy another pair when these finally wear out. I don't run, so I can't say how they are for running.

These are the worst shoes NB has made. I am an avid runner (+200 lbs)who runs about 30 miles a week. After about 5 miles I start to get heel pain due to the flat heel pocket in these shoes. I tried inserts but no luck. Save your money and try the Saucony Hurricanes instead.

Great shoe. Much better than the Asics Kayano 13 that I had before these. I run about 20 miles or so for about the past 2 months and these have held up great so far. Very little heel wear and great support for my low arches. My only complaint is that the shoe does not breath very well and this c...

Bring back the 991s! I could go out and run 20 miles in those things without ever breaking them in. As for the 992s, continuous calf pain. With 2" of heel "cushion", I feel like I'm constantly running around on my toes. This is a heavy shoe as well. Taking them back.

Quickest return on a shoe yet. Ran 1/2 of a mile on treadmill and had to stop due to achillies tendon/heel pain! I had another NB model and they also had a very high collar that rubbed my achillies, I just cut the heel part of the collar off! With these, I didn't even want to make an effort to ke...

Disappointed. I trained and ran 2-3 marathons in 991's without a problem. I never considered buying another shoe. Last marathon I had 2 pairs of 992's that I trained and raced in and I developed heel problems. I fished out one of my pairs of 991's that had a few miles left and problem has improve...

I've worn every update to this line of New Balance's shoe since the 990--I'm a bigger guy (6'2", ~200 lbs) and have a very narrow, long foot with no arch (wear orthotics), and this is the ONLY shoe I can wear for extended periods of time without pain. I had been pleasantly surprised by how much mor...
